WOODEN SLATS FOR THE WELLNESS AREA

As a stucco specialist, Pagitsch GesmbH can implement virtually any customer request in drywall construction. However, the Lungau-based company is also well-versed in timber construction. This was demonstrated most recently in the expansion of the wellness area at the Hotel Krallerhof in Leogang.

COLLABORATION WITH STAR ARCHITECT HADI TEHERANI

For the project in the Pinzgau region of Salzburg, around 350 cubic meters of linden wood were processed into wooden slats with a maximum length of 5.20 meters in just two months of construction, which were then finger-jointed to achieve assembly lengths of up to 18 meters (with individual slats 40 mm thick). In addition to the short construction time, the Pagitsch specialists mastered further construction challenges. The 3D plans and visualizations had to be "translated" into two-dimensional drawings for the CNC milling machines. Each individual slat was different due to the building's shape and had to be specially programmed, milled, and painted on three sides.

In addition to the free-form wooden slats, which give the new spa at the Krallerhof a distinctive interior look, cooling acoustic ceilings and undulating mirrored ceilings were also installed. Pagitsch implemented Hadi Teherani's plans with precision – the German star architect succeeded in perfectly integrating the adults-only wellness area into the Leogang mountains, despite its considerable dimensions. In addition to a wavy design and a green roof, the use of wood as a natural and sustainable building material was key to the realization of this project.

PRAISE FROM ARCHITECTURAL EXPERTS AND GUESTS

With the addition of the spa, the Krallerhof has solidified its position as one of the leading wellness hotels in Austria. Among the numerous awards received by the Krallerhof, which is a member of the "Best Alpine Wellness Hotels" association, the Design Educates Award 2025 for the wellness area co-designed by Pagitsch stands out.

But not only the architectural experts, but also visitors are singing the highest praises for the Krallerhof and its adults-only spa. The 5-star hotel in Salzburger Land enjoys absolutely top ratings on several review platforms. The new wellness area, called ATMOSPHERE, is repeatedly praised.
