A SUSTAINABILITY-FOCUSED INDUSTRIAL COMPANY EXPANDED ITS SALES HEADQUARTERS

At a glance:
   • location: Wels, Upper Austria
   • scope: office expansion in several stages
   • construction period: September 2011 to September 2012

The sales headquarters of Fronius International GmbH has been located in the city of Wels since 1990. Between 2011 and 2012, the office building was expanded with the support of Pagitsch GesmbH and now encompasses a total area of 17,000 square meters. Fronius operates in the electrical and electronics industry, with its main business areas being welding technology, solar energy, and battery charging technology.

IN-HOUSE ENERGY GENERATION AND EFFICIENT CONSTRUCTION

Fronius' own expertise was also incorporated into the expansion of the Wels site. Thanks to active energy construction, photovoltaics, and modern environmental technology, the energy requirements for operating the building can be largely met on-site; the solar array generates an annual yield of 700 kWh and a power output of 900 Wp. The inverter for converting direct current to alternating current was also manufactured by Fronius.

Architecturally, the extension (designed by PAUAT Architekten ZTGmbH) and the existing building were optimally integrated, resulting in a modern, harmonious whole. This allows the building to blend perfectly into its surroundings on the south side of Wels main train station.

PAGITSCH ENSURES OPTIMAL ACOUSTICS AND A PLEASANT INDOOR CLIMATE

Fronius' commitment to sustainability is also reflected in the interior design – not only through green walls but also through the contribution of Pagitsch. Special acoustic climate ceilings from the Lungau-based construction specialist were fitted with Cleaneo-Lock panels. These gypsum plasterboard panels from Knauf fulfill several functions: In addition to sound insulation, this product boasts an attractive, seamless appearance, improves air quality with special additives, and allows for quick and time-saving installation thanks to UFF edges.

Combined with Pagitsch's climate ceiling system, a pleasant indoor climate is ensured, and energy consumption for heating and cooling is significantly reduced.

RESOURCE CONSERVATION IN BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND USE

Fronius – the headquarters of this internationally active family business is located in Pettenbach in the Traunviertel region – implemented its corporate philosophy with the office expansion in Wels and its clear focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. The themes of research and innovation are also reflected in the extension, both inside and out.

Pagitsch, in turn, underscored the increasingly important role of conserving natural resources in the construction industry by participating in the project. This leading company from Lungau fulfills this responsibility through sustainability in the construction process: efficient planning and prefabrication of building components in its own factory, thorough waste management, and support for sustainable building use through modern drywall solutions.

Are you also planning a project that will meet strict ecological criteria during the construction phase and beyond, and create a pleasant working environment for your employees? Then Pagitsch is the perfect partner for you. We are happy to answer your questions and offer a free initial consultation.
