• location: Pasching, Upper Austria
• scope: expansion of shopping center
• construction period: 2014 to 2019 (implementation in several stages)
220 shops, including 48 restaurants, bars, and cafés, a large cinema complex with 14 screens and 3,000 seats, and a 2,800-square-meter amusement park with bowling, billiards, and more – these are the impressive key figures of PlusCity in Pasching. In addition, numerous companies take advantage of the convenient transport connections (two federal highways and a motorway interchange in the immediate vicinity) and have established offices here.
The shopping and entertainment center just outside Linz opened in 1989. A major expansion followed in 2014, increasing the number of stores from 150 to 220. This was made possible, among other things, by Pagitsch GesmbH, which carried out all the drywall work during the expansion. This included the entire mall, the additional parking deck, and the individual shops and office spaces. The large-scale project was implemented in several phases between 2014 and 2019.
The result in numbers: The retail space grew to 70,000 square meters, making PlusCity the fourth-largest shopping and entertainment center in Austria. The number of employees increased from 2,500 to approximately 3,500, revenue from €350 million to €500 million (as of 2023), and the parking area grew to over 5,000 spaces thanks to the new parking garage. On average, well over 20,000 visitors are counted per day.
Pagitsch's scope of work and requirements were highly diverse, as each shop and office presented specific challenges for the Lungau-based drywall specialists. Several companies also used the renovation phase to refurbish or redesign their premises.
One example is SER Solutions, one of the final projects for Pagitsch. The software manufacturer wanted a modern, open work environment with a "working café" for its employees. Pagitsch fulfilled this wish, improving both the visual and acoustic quality in the process. The drywall specialists used hexagonal wood wool acoustic panels in a color scheme based on the company's corporate identity. An acoustic ceiling was also installed in the meeting room.
With its involvement in the expansion of PlusCity, Pagitsch GesmbH has proven itself to be a reliable partner for large-scale projects, delivering highly professional and punctual execution. We also handle smaller projects, including single-family homes, with the same dedication.
