The history of spa tourism in Bad Hofgastein dates back to 1828. In that year, Emperor Franz I granted the town the right to use the thermal water from the Elisabethquelle spring in Bad Gastein. This decision had far-reaching consequences, as in addition to a large thermal spa, numerous hotels and spa houses were built. One of the most famous is the BVAEB health facility, operated by the Insurance Institute for Public Servants, Railways, and Mining. It consists of two buildings, including the Ferdinand Hanusch Spa House, which was extensively renovated in 2016.
In addition to the renovation of the dining room, kitchen, and reception, a new therapy area was built, including an eight-by-twelve-meter indoor therapy pool. Pagitsch GesmbH impressed with the rapid implementation of the spa project, not only with its rapid completion within a few months and reasonable costs (the investment volume was thus limited to €3.5 million), but also with colored lighting effects to create a particularly atmospheric ambiance.
The lighting is installed in light channels made of cement panels – from white to violet, every color can be optimally showcased. The light channels run in free-form paths along three walls and the ceiling, encircling the entire bathroom area. Another eye-catcher is the free-form window with a creative 3D reveal. Waterproof wall and ceiling paneling completes the project and makes it a successful example of plastering and drywall work "Made in Tamsweg."
With his work, Pagitsch ensured that the BVAEB healthcare facility now has a modern aqua area that can be used for therapy sessions, but can also be used by spa guests for "normal" swimming outside of therapy hours.
The BVAEB healthcare facility has a total of 151 rooms with 169 beds, making it an integral part of the spa offerings in Bad Hofgastein. The Ferdinand Hanusch spa house has 72 rooms. Therapeutic treatment focuses on diseases of the musculoskeletal system, with a particular focus on rheumatic diseases. In addition to water aerobics and pressure jet massages, radon treatments, physiotherapy, and moderate exercise (e.g., Nordic walking) are also used.
Pagitsch GesmbH is pleased to support the healthcare sector, among many other industries, with its construction projects. Solid drywall and plastering work thus form the basis for sustainable therapeutic success.
