Pagitsch GesmbH operates throughout Austria and internationally, but is rooted in the Salzburg Lungau region. The completion and opening of the large sports hall in Tamsweg in autumn 2013 was therefore a cause for celebration for the local construction professionals. This was especially true since Pagitsch was involved in the project and the municipality of Tamsweg included several other local companies in the bidding process. The Lungau sports center thus became a collaborative effort by businesses in the Lungau region.
Pagitsch's expertise was utilized in the facade construction of the large sports hall. Starting with the entrance area, a visual highlight of the building, Pagitsch experts opted for a combination of melamine resin panels (high-gloss, bonded) and Eternit facade elements (screwed). Both methods perfectly meet the requirements of a modern building envelope: high resistance to weathering, durability, and great design flexibility.
Eternit facades – the brand name has largely become a generic term – are based on fiber cement, a composite material made of cement and tensile fibers. Today, the fiber materials used are primarily glass, cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, and carbon. A particular advantage of this mixture: fiber cement is non-combustible and therefore offers excellent fire protection properties.
The Tamsweg sports hall is directly adjacent to three schools and is used for school sports activities, among other things. In addition to a complete gymnasium setup, the hall features a grandstand for approximately 200 people, making it suitable for small to medium-sized sporting events (the total usable area is 970 square meters). For social events, a mobile stage can be used, and the specially coated hall floor can be set up with chairs. The glass facade on the southwest side of the building is equipped with thermal insulation glazing and glare protection. The total cost of the new building, designed by Tamsweg architect Otto Christian Gernat, was approximately 4.8 million euros.
For Tamsweg, and especially for its youth, the sports hall represented a significant improvement in infrastructure. Thanks to the hall's construction, the town's secondary school was able to establish a sports focus that continues to this day.
The Tamsweg Sports Hall demonstrates that Pagitsch GesmbH doesn't rely on a single approach to facade construction, but rather adapts exceptionally well to the specific requirements of each project and the client's wishes. Would you like to benefit from this flexibility and work with us to develop future-oriented solutions for your facades? Then we look forward to hearing from you.
