Advanced flooring for an advanced logistics center – that was Pagitsch's motto in their collaboration with Martini Sportswear in Annaberg. Founded in 1958 as a bespoke tailor for sports trousers, the company has gradually developed into a major player in the outdoor fashion sector, with annual sales in the tens of millions. The construction of the new building, which, in addition to logistics facilities, also offers modern open-plan workspaces, a photo studio, a workshop area for meetings and events, and five flexible residential units for employees, was the logical consequence of this growth. Pagitsch GesmbH was commissioned to install the industrial flooring for the new building and, as always, completed the project on schedule.
At the Annaberg logistics center, Rheobeton was primarily used – this special concrete form, applied to a total area of 1,120 square meters, is characterized by exceptional dimensional stability and rapid curing. A total of 120 square meters were coated with epoxy resin. Additional advantages of this special treatment include epoxy's extreme resistance to mechanical stress, its resistance to many chemicals and salts, and the ease of cleaning and maintenance.
In addition, Pagitsch specialists applied the flowable mortar RHEODUR® SiC-Megaplan to 518 square meters. Compared to a standard cement matrix, this product is reinforced with silicon carbide. Therefore, it exhibits extremely low wear resistance, even under high mechanical loads.
The use of state-of-the-art materials in the flooring design integrates seamlessly into the overall concept of the new logistics center in the Salzburg Pongau region. Martini Sportswear opted for the cutting-edge AutoStore storage system. Goods are stored on 16 levels in a total of 18,400 bins and are managed by 16 warehouse robots. A conveyor belt system enables the rapid picking, packing, and labeling of parcels for shipment.
In addition to efficiency, sustainability was a key focus: The building is heated and cooled using geothermal energy, and the entire electricity demand, including that of the robots, is met by a rooftop photovoltaic system. The new logistics center also houses a "Repair & Care" department. Returned goods are inspected, refurbished if necessary, and repackaged. Products that are no longer in perfect condition are sold secondhand at affordable prices.
Pagitsch implemented the project in Annaberg with its usual professionalism, proving that multiple large construction sites can be managed simultaneously without any problems. Almost simultaneously with Martini Sportswear, large-scale flooring was installed in the city of Salzburg and in Grein (Upper Austria).
