BADOK and Montessori

BADOK Written educational and work documentation

We use this form of documentation throughout the kindergarten to observe the children's development and reflect on the educational work. The BADOK helps us to pursue our educational work and to cover all areas of the educational framework plan in a targeted manner.

We use the BADOK because it...

... is geared towards the individual child

... focuses on the strengths and resources of each child

... offers transparency for children and parents through the portfolio. This essential part of the BADOK can be viewed at any time or taken home after consultation with the teacher.

Parents are also offered a development discussion once a year, during which the BADOK portfolio is discussed, among other things. Children are involved in the portfolio work by actively helping to shape the contributions. They can cut out their own photos, paste them in, or use a picture to tell what they did on them. They are motivated to get involved and help shape their own learning process. This strengthens their self-confidence and increases their self-esteem. Last but not least, communication skills and motor skills are also promoted through active participation.

Montessori

What is Montessori pedagogy?

First and foremost, the focus is on the individual child. They should be able to meet their physical and psychological needs as independently as possible and develop independently. For example, an accessible drinking facility so that the child can always get water as soon as they are thirsty.

One of our colleagues trained as a Montessori pedagogue. The colleagues took part in a training course and are trying to integrate Montessori pedagogy into everyday life. This is best seen through the various tablets in all group rooms. These tablets are intended to enable the child to pursue their individual interests and current learning progress completely independently. Accordingly, there are various tablets for different areas. For example, mathematics, language, nature and technology or to promote motor skills.

Montessori pedagogy promotes the fun of learning and encourages children to overcome hurdles independently. "Help me do it myself" (Maria Montessori)

In doing so, they will recognize their own strengths and weaknesses and learn to respect them. The children are allowed to reach their individual limits and make mistakes - this is the only way they can grow.

We love individual solutions
